Fun tips for Halloween Fun with Tasty Treats

Halloween Caramel Dipped Apples
Family Celebration
Lush caramel and chocolate covered apples are a delicious way to treat those you love on the scariest night of the year, without the expense.

It's simple! Get four large sized Granny apples, pierce each apple through the core about 3/4 of the way from bottom to top with an ice cream stick. Coat each apple with melted butter, and melt down 8 oz of caramel, packaged caramel squares will do fine. Caramel will usually melt after about 1 minute in the microwave but be sure the caramel is nice and creamy throughout.

Gently roll each apple in the melted caramel, covering completely and place each on wax paper. Chill apples in the refrigerator for five minutes. Melt 6 Hershey's milk or dark chocolate bars (or your favorite chocolate) and gently roll each apple thoroughly in the melted chocolate. Place the apples on fresh wax paper and let chill for about ten minutes. You can roll your apples in chopped nuts if you like. Wait three minutes after covering your apples with chocolate and add the nuts before chilling.
